A message from Ann Goddard:
Thank you to all the artists and authors who demonstrated their understanding of the books and grammar.
> The Exhibition was so vivid and touching.
> The difficult subject of World War 1 was approached through two books by Hilary Robinson and Martin Impey - Flo of the Somme and A Song for Will.
> Martin Impey came and drew pictures including his trademark mouse for the children and inspired the whole school to produce their own versions. The pictures of Medical Aid Dog Flo and Orderly Ray with his donkey, the brave sad letters and postcards home all stained with mud from the trenches, the pigeon post messages models and First Aid boxes all showed that the children had understood the stories and imagined the dangers and hardships of the battlefield. It was a fitting tribute to the lost lives of a century ago.
